Eczema and Dermatitis

One in ten people regularly suffer from eczema (atopic dermatitis) on a regular basis, and many more of us suffer at some stage in our lives.

It’s caused by a combination of immune system activation, genetics, environmental triggers and stress. If you have eczema, your immune system overreacts to small irritants or allergens and this overreaction can inflame your skin. In many cases it’s quite mild, showing up as slight redness and itchiness, but when severe it can cause weeping sores that take days or even weeks to heal. Not only that, but Mother Nature seems to give us these attacks where they are most visible, often on the face and hands!

If you suffer from eczema or dermatitis you’ll know all about this; it’s debilitating, highly upsetting not to mention infuriatingly annoying. You may have been prescribed all manner of creams and lotions to keep it under control, including nasty steroidal creams which can do long term damage to your skin.

Our founder, Angela has had eczema for years; or we should say that she used to have eczema! Ten years ago she was given some pure Moroccan Argan oil as a beauty product, and she discovered that regular use cleared up her eczema completely within the first ten days. That tight skin feeling disappeared, and the little red blotches so common in a flare up were completely absent.

So what is it about Argan oil that is such a miracle cure for eczema and dermatitis? Well, the jury is still out on this, and the experts still disagree on what actually causes eczema. However there have been a great deal of studies done on how Argan oil seems to help.

First, it’s packed with Vitamin E, in its most natural form. Vitamin E is a powerful antioxidant which provides a raft of anti-inflammatory processes to the skin. Antioxidants are substances that help clear reactive oxygen molecules that the body releases as part of the inflammatory response. Although these molecules are usually protective against microbial invaders, they can cause tissue damage if they go unchecked.

Vitamin E works by limiting the formation of reactive oxygen molecules, thereby decreasing inflammation and injury to the skin.

What else is known to reduce the effects of eczema and dermatitis? Studies have shown that Omega fatty acids, Omega 3 and Omega 6 have a huge effect too and are also effective in managing inflammatory skin problems like acne, seborrheic dermatitis and psoriasis. Omega 6 fatty acids are known to hydrate rough skin, fade hyperpigmentation, improve wound healing and treat acne problems.

And.... it just so happens that Argan oil is super rich in both these incredibly beneficial essential fatty acids. Put them all together, and you have one of the worlds best natural treatments for problem skin, and not a man-made ingredient in sight!

If you suffer from eczema, dermatitis, psoriasis or any other inflammatory skin condition, you owe it to yourself to try Arganics 100% pure Moroccan Argan oil.
